DAY 1
Arrival by TGV (speed train) and transfer to Arbois.
Check-in at La Closerie Des Capucines, free time to relax and/or walk around the town.
You’ll have your first tasting of the trip in one of the tasting rooms located in the Arbois City Centre, such as Rolet Pére et Fils or Domaine Jacques Tissot.
In the afternoon, you can enjoy an aperitif at Le Bistrot des Claquets, where you’ll find local wines and beers as well as other local products. The perfect spot for a glass (or bottle) before dinner.
Just around the corner, you’ll have dinner at Le Bistronome, a seasonal french food restaurant by chefs Lisa & Jérôme (who spent 5 years working with chef Jean-Paul Jeunet).
Overnight in Arbois
DAY 2
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Dole.
Private tour of the Old Town, including landmarks such as the House of Louis Pasteur, where you’ll see artifacts from the scientist and his discoveries; the Hôtel-Dieu, a 1613 building that served as a hospital and later a library and the 16th-century Notre-Dame-de-Dole Collegiate Church, with its Gothic interior and 73-meter tower that you can climb to have the best views of Dole. Along the way, you’ll see other historical sites and will stop at local shops like Les Garçons Fromagers to taste and buy local products.
The lunch will be at Le Local, where you’ll enjoy seasonal dishes in a cozy setting. Another option is La Chaumière, a 1-star Michelin restaurant where chef Joël Césari continues his path as a nature lover, finding inspiration in local ingredients.
Back in Arbois, you’ll have free time to relax.
In the afternoon you’ll have a panoramic view of the Jura vineyards at the Pupillin village before dinner at Le Grapiot, a wine-focused restaurant that works with terroir-only ingredients.
Overnight in Arbois
DAY 3
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Chateau-Chalon, one of France’s most beautiful villages, you’ll enjoy a short stroll in the village and admire the beautiful landscape.
The next stop will be at Domaine Berthet-Bondet or Domaine Montbourgeau to taste Jura wines, the area is well known for being the best terroir for Vin Jaune (Yellow Wine), the region’s iconic wine.
After the tasting, you’ll have a 60-minute visit to La Maison du Comté to discover the history and making process of one of the most popular cheeses in France, including a Comté tasting.
Lunch will be at Domaine De La Pinte where the resident chef will prepare local dishes paired with their wines that you’ll enjoy with a view of the vineyards. Don’t miss their Crémant de Jura, a sparkling wine made with local grape variety Savagnin.
After lunch, you’ll have a visit to their cellar where the winemaker will share her knowledge and passion for the 5 local grapes (Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir)
Back in Arbois, you’ll have time to relax before dinner at Les Caudalies by sommelier Philippe Troussard, it features over 1,000 wines and a terrace with views of the River Cuisance and the Arbois vineyards.
DAY 4
Breakfast at the hotel.
Before check-out, you’ll have time to enjoy a walk in the city and the last opportunity to purchase souvenirs, and what better places than Vins et Vinagres, Essencia en Arbois and Hirsing to do so, Wines, Cheeses and Chocolates, everything you need to remember your trip to Jura.
